Definition:

• Unleash: To release from a leash or restraint.
• Destiny: The hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future.

The concept of “hidden power” may seem mysterious, but it’s not hidden from us because we recognize this power as God. It’s time to unleash your uniqueness, your purpose, and your assignment to make a lasting impact on this world.

You are here, drawing breath, with a beating heart for a reason. You’re not just existing. You have a destiny, a purpose, a calling on your life.

Acts 17:6 – “These are they that turn the world upside down.”

Psalm 37:4-5 (Passion Translation):

• Verse 4: “Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and He will give you what you desire the most.”
• Verse 5: “Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust Him along the way, you’ll find He pulled it off perfectly!”

God has planted desires in your heart, both spoken and unspoken. I believe there are key factors and a pathway that lead to unleashing your destiny:

1. Identity: How I Am Made

Today, we will focus on Identity. Here are five steps to dealing with identity:

Step 1: Embracing You

Romans 12:6-7 (The Message):
“Let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be someone we are not.”

Embracing who you are and truly being who God called you to be can be uncomfortable. But it’s essential. People may try to mold you into what they think you should be. But whose mold is it? Theirs, God’s, or their interpretation of God?

Your unique design is a clue to your purpose. You wouldn’t use a hammer to crochet a scarf; those are the wrong tools. Similarly, trying to be like others means missing out on using your specific talents, skills, and giftings for your assignment.

Story:

• Big Eyes: I once questioned why my eyes were so big. It turns out, they are a sign of my gift as a seer.
• Singing Voice: Growing up Baptist, everything was loud and strong. Not every clue about your identity is visible to others, but they are clear signs to you.

God will not bless who you pretend to be. It’s an insult to Him. You are unique, a daughter of the Most High God. Stop conforming, shrinking, and dimming your light. Embrace who you were always meant to be.

Step 2: Know You Are Incomparable

Psalm 139:13-14 (NIV):
“For I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

The Message:
“Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.”

God took His time with you. There is no one else on earth like you. Even twins have differences. We must embrace our uniqueness instead of trying to fit into the mold of others.

Story:

• Watching “Atlanta Housewives,” I realized that these are recordings of their lives from months ago. Yet, we get caught up in watching others live their lives instead of living our own. Comparison cripples our confidence and compromises our calling.

Step 3: You Are a Message

Philippians 1:12 (NIV):
“Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.”

Your life, experiences, struggles, tears, and victories form your unique story. Don’t let the fear of being judged silence you. Your story could potentially save thousands and bring them into the Kingdom of God.

Step 4: You Are Distinctive

Ephesians 2:10 (The Voice):
“For we are the product of His hand, heaven’s poetry etched on lives, created in the Anointed, Jesus, to accomplish the good works God arranged long ago.”

Story:

• I used to apologize for my seemingly different ways until I realized they were distinct characteristics that help me fulfill my calling. Purpose flows naturally and is not forced.

Step 5: You Are Multifaceted

John 3:34 (NIV):
“For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.”

Story:

• In the business world, we often separate life and work, but they must work together. God intends for us to be the light and salt of the earth. Your presence should change the atmosphere.

God gave you an unlimited source of supply to fulfill His work on earth, perfectly packaged in you. We should never stop discovering how He’s handcrafted us for His unlimited purpose.
